Kiaragiel Gregorio or Kiara, for having won the 2015 Mutya ng Pilipinas United Kingdom (Mutya UK) title, is the official representative of the Filipino community in the UK to the 2015 Mutya ng Pilipinas, one of the grandest and most prestigious beauty pageants in the Philippines.
She is among the 30 candidates vying for the crown. Standing at 5 feet and 6 1/2 inches tall, she is Candidate No. 13, one that is considered in numerology as sacred and focused in “building a secure foundation for the future.”
I was the Chairman of the Board of Judges of the 2015 Mutya UK event which concluded on May 2015. It marked its place in history as the first of its class on British soil. It was made possible and successful by Mr. Jassin Fuentes, a naturalised British citizen of Filipino descent, an entrepreneur and CEO of Beau Events in Manchester, England. He painstakingly affiliated Mutya UK with the Mutya ng Pilipinas, Inc. through its President, Ms. Jacqueline Tan. Jassin tapped me to be the organisation’s Legal Consultant, which I readily accepted.
Kiara displayed such enthusiasm, determination, grace, beauty, personality and wits that translated into the score sheets of the board of judges which was composed of five persons, including me, of different ethnicity. She also won the Best in Swimsuit competition. But she proved that she possesses not only pleasant physical characteristics but also showed mental agility when she gave an impressive answer to my question. It so happened that she was the last candidate to be asked and she picked up the last piece of paper where my name is written after the other candidates had randomly picked up which judge is to going to pose a question to them.
Through the Facebook Page of Mutya-Manfid UK, Mutya ng Pilipinas, OPMB worldwide and Kiara Giel Hamlig Gregorio, I am able to monitor the events of the pageant and Kiara’s further development of becoming a better person and having a more strengthened spirit.
She is under the training camp of Kagandahang Flores, a personality development outfit which has produced local and international beauty titlists. Ms. Carelle Mangaliag, an inspirational and personality development trainor awarded a book she authored to Kiara as the team leader of the group which won in the training. Photos that include and highlight Kiara were also used as the featured image of print and social media news and articles.
Truly, Kiara has travelled long and wide, engaged in a journey that transforms her into a somebody far from the ordinary girl she used to be. She really has a fighting chance of wearing the 47th Mutya ng Pilipinas crown, sash and title.
